I am thrilled, that I was able to host my first ever Sip And Create session, the purpose of these gatherings was to give clients a space to be creative and guidance in developing their own creativity. Creativity is a skill that sometimes gets overlooked but in my opinion is essential for growth, at both an personal and global level.
Here is a brief run through of the session:
I asked the clients to bring in their own reference image, I wanted to let them pick the image so they would enjoy what they were painting. I did provide a rough brief which was images of animals.
I then played a warmup game to help the creative juices flowing.
I went over some basic techniques to help with recreating the photo but also encouraged them to create their own spins on the image. Copying is a good skill, but this class was to focus on creativity not accuracy.
Then I let them play with their art and was there for motivation and advice.
After my first session I reflected on what went well and what I could improve on for next session, also read over the feedback from the group.
